Each month, NTREIS (North Texas Real Estate Information Systems) and The Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University publish a report with updated real estate data. In April, their report for sales of Single Family Homes were down as an average for the entire North Texas market. Overall, Single Family Home sales were down 11%, Dollar Volume down 12% and Pending Sales down 26%. New listings were down 17% with active listings of Single Family Homes at 45,224. We also know that many buyers are now slower to make buying decisions. Therefore, it is important to note that reduced listings and inventory helps to keep the market balanced and prices relatively stable.

Steve, it is refreshing to read something that doesn’t describe our market here in the Dallas area as being in the same shape as some of the other larger markets across the country. I look forward to seeing future posts. Thanks, Tom
